We want this website and this farm to work for every person who wants to get married here, or come to a wedding here, or just look. If either one of them is getting in your way, tell us and we will fix it.
What we are aiming for
This site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.2, at level AA. That is the standard we hold it to, and we check against it as the site changes.
What we have done on the site
- Real headings in order, one main heading per page, and landmark regions so a screen reader can move around quickly.
- A skip link at the top of every page that jumps straight to the content.
- A visible focus ring on every link, button, field and control, so you always know where you are with a keyboard.
- Every photograph carries alt text that describes what is actually in the frame.
- Colour combinations measured against the AA contrast thresholds, including text sitting over photographs.
- Forms with real labels, plain sentences instead of red boxes when something goes wrong, and error text tied to the field it belongs to.
- Dialogs that keep focus inside while they are open, close on the Escape key, and hand focus back to whatever opened them.
- Motion that stays off entirely if your device is set to reduce motion. Nothing moves on scroll, nothing flashes, nothing plays on its own.
- The core paths still work without JavaScript, so a form still submits and a page still reads.
- Text that reflows down to a narrow phone without a sideways scrollbar, and layouts that hold up when you zoom in.
The farm itself
This is a working farm, so it is honest to say up front that the ground outside is ground. Paths are pine straw, gravel and grass rather than pavement, and they are not level everywhere.
- The Reception Barn is wheelchair accessible, and so are the guest bathrooms in it.
- Parking is on site, free, and holds 300 cars. For a large event our team is out front, and we can get a car in close to the barn for anyone who needs to be near the door.
- The ceremony site under the oaks is reached along a pine-straw path, with a paver walkway down the middle of the lawn for the aisle.
- The bridal suite is on the ground floor of the Manor House, with two restrooms in it.
- The Manor House porches have steps up to them.
If somebody in your party uses a wheelchair or a walker, has trouble on uneven ground, needs a quiet place to step away to, or needs anything else at all, tell us before the day. Glenn and Diane will plan it out with you. It is easier to solve in advance than at four in the afternoon on a Saturday, and we would rather do it right.
Telling us about a problem
If part of this site does not work for you, or something on the farm made your visit harder than it should have been, we want to hear it. Email info@all4onefarms.com or call us at (904) 474-9507.
It helps if you can tell us which page you were on and what happened, but do not let that stop you from writing. Say it however you like and we will work it out. We answer, and we do not wait two days to do it.
