Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, and if you are like many couples, your pet is part of your family. Whether it is a dog, a cat or something more unconventional, there are plenty of ways to include them. Here are some ideas and things to think through so your pet can be part of the big day.

Should your pet be there

It is natural to want your pet with you, but think through the logistics first. Will your venue allow pets? Is your pet comfortable with loud noises or a crowd? It is worth making sure having your pet at the wedding will not add stress for either of you. If your venue is not pet friendly, or your pet may not handle the environment well, you can still find creative ways to include them.

We are pet friendly and enjoy having special pet friends as part of the day.

Nine ways to include your pet

  1. Wedding photos. Capture timeless moments with your pet in your wedding photos. Pets can be part of your pre-ceremony or post-ceremony portraits, adding joy and spontaneity to the pictures.
  2. Walk down the aisle. Let your pet walk you or your partner down the aisle, whether acting as a ring bearer or simply walking alongside.
  3. Custom cake topper. Add a personal touch to your wedding cake with a custom topper that features your pet.
  4. Include your pet on invitations. Feature your pet on your wedding invitations, in a fun illustration or photo, for a personal touch.
  5. Pet inspired cocktails. Name a signature wedding cocktail after your pet, with a custom drink menu, themed garnishes or napkins.
  6. Pet themed decor. Bring your pet into the decor with illustrations or pictures on signage, menus or favors.
  7. Pet inspired desserts. Have cookies or cupcakes shaped like your pet, or a special treat made just for them.
  8. Creative table numbers. Personalize your seating chart or table numbers with your pet's name or image.
  9. Donate to animal charities. Ask for charitable donations to an animal shelter in your pet's name, as part of your registry or in place of favors.

Including your pet in your wedding can make the day even more memorable. Whether they are walking down the aisle with you, appearing on your invitations or showing up in your photos, your pet's presence adds an extra layer of joy.
